Protected transactions

To ensure sustainable protection for users and their funds, GEMUL has implemented MasterCard® SecureCode™ and Visa Secure (previously known as Verified by Visa) 3-D Secure standards.

This added layer of protection interacts with both the cardholder and their card issuer. When customers check out, an in-line window appears asking them to enter a unique, personal code, that has been registered with their bank. The bank then authenticates the cardholder and provides GEMUL with evidence of the online purchase.

This makes it possible to operate under a worldwide security and compliance standard, increasing card acceptance rate and effectively closing down more than 90% of attempts at fraud.

In the event of fraud, consumers are covered in part or full depending on local market rules and regulations.

Secured cardholder data

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a widely accepted set of policies and procedures intended to optimize the security of credit, debit, and cash card transactions and protect cardholders against misuse of their personal information.

Being PCI DSS compliant means consistently adhering to a set of guidelines set forth by the PCI Secuity Standards Council.

To obtain PCI DSS certification the business has to be compliant with six major objectives, 12 key requirements, 78 base requirements, over 400 test procedures, and complete regular external audits.

GEMUL holds PCI DSS Level 2 certificate to protect our clients from technological savvy fraudsters.
